Well, not anymore, thanks to Dr. Merrell and his assistant, Lisa; who have both been kind, caring, and very professional.

I was not having restful sleeps, which of course, made me quite cranky during the day. I was also having trouble concentrating and formulating my thoughts. I was fitted with the TAP appliance and I’ve never looked back!

"First, all the Merrell Clinic staff have been personable, respectful, informative, good listeners, and helpful. We are pleased with the attention to detail and the pre/post sleep evaluation process providing objective measures of changes from Time 1 to Time 2.

We are naturally particularly happy because in the first six weeks of use of the dental appliance to reduce snoring, my snoring has reduced dramatically. My wife recalls only two nights in the last six weeks that I was snoring and both times it was much quieter than my historical volume levels.

I have started to have dreams again, which I take as evidence that I am experiencing more REM sleep.

I am yawning less often than I used to in the afternoon and evenings, and I am waking up less often in the night resulting in less sleep disturbances.

My wife and children are no longer affected by my snoring, which had resulted in their sleep being disturbed.

“My new mouth guard is just great, since the first night I started to use it. There are several improvements over my other one; such as both the upper and lower are shorter and therefore do not reach the gums, which was an irritating factor with my other one. It is not necessary to warm the mouthpiece in order to install it. I find it very easy to install first the upper and then the lower, and by moving the lower jaw forward it easily connects the “hook of the upper tray” with the “socket of the lower tray”. I have never had the trays come apart during the night. Also, they are easy to remove in the morning for cleaning.”

In university I played a lot of sport (hockey, track & field, etc.) and managed to break my nose four times, subsequently my breathing was not very good through my nose and I started snoring.
